Authorities believe the suspect, who shouted 'Allahu Akbar' and prayed after his arrest, may have been motivated by Islamist extremism, although there is no evidence linking him to any terrorist organizations. Prosecutor Gabriele Tilmann indicated that the suspect's online communications suggested a certain Islamist orientation, but he had no prior convictions. The attack occurred during a demonstration, and police responded by firing a shot at the vehicle before apprehending the suspect.
