Florida Coaches Face Assault, Title IX Investigations

Florida men's basketball assistant coach Taurean Green is facing a sexual assault complaint filed by a university athletics department employee, as the university also investigates head coach Todd Golden for alleged Title IX violations. The complaint alleges Green attempted to kiss the woman and put his hands down her pants during a March 2024 meeting, which she resisted. She reported the incident in December after being interviewed regarding a separate investigation into Golden, who is accused of sexual harassment and stalking. Coach Todd Golden has expressed frustration over the confidentiality breaches in the Title IX process but continues to support his staff, including Green. The University of Florida has outsourced the Title IX investigations to Grand River Solutions and emphasized the importance of due process. Both Green and Golden have significant ties to the university, with Green being a former player on championship teams and Golden having signed a long-term coaching contract.
