Airbnb Now Shows Total Stay Prices By Default

Airbnb will now automatically display the total price for stays—including cleaning and service fees, but excluding taxes—by default for all users worldwide. This change eliminates the need for users to manually toggle the feature and aims to enhance transparency amid increased regulatory scrutiny. The update complies with new US Federal Trade Commission rules requiring upfront price disclosure for short-term rentals and similar services. Airbnb began testing all-inclusive pricing in 2019 and introduced a toggle for the feature in 2022, with nearly 17 million users having already benefited. The company reports that this move has led many hosts to lower or eliminate cleaning fees, making listings more competitive and affordable. Additional tools have also been provided to help hosts compare their pricing with similar listings, supporting greater affordability and transparency.
