During the Bharat Bandh in Bihar's Gopalganj, protesters attempted to set a school bus on fire, endangering the lives of several children. A viral video showed the mob surrounding the bus and burning tyres under it, but the police intervened in time to prevent a fatal incident. Various districts, including Patna and Darbhanga, experienced significant disruptions with protesters blocking roads and railways. The Bharat Bandh was called by 21 organizations in response to a Supreme Court ruling allowing states to sub-classify Scheduled Castes for reservations. Authorities used lathi-charges and water cannons to disperse the protesters, and several arrests were made. Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat confirmed high alert measures and the filing of FIRs against troublemakers identified through drone footage.
