Atlanta Braves Draft High School Pitcher Cam Caminiti

The Atlanta Braves selected left-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the 24th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Caminiti, who is the cousin of former MLB All-Star Ken Caminiti, reclassified to graduate early and is just 17 years old. He is known for his powerful pitching, throwing up to 98 mph, and led his high school to its first state championship in 13 years. Caminiti was named the Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year in Arizona and was on the Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list. Despite being drafted, he can choose to attend LSU, where he has committed to play, if he declines to sign with the Braves.
