Hollyoaks Star Paul Danan Dies from Drug Toxicity in Bristol Sofa Death Inquest

Paul Danan, the 46-year-old actor known for his role as Sol Patrick on Hollyoaks and appearances on reality shows like Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Love Island, died from a combined toxicity of drugs including heroin, cocaine, methadone, codeine, pregabalin, and zopiclone. He was found unresponsive on his sofa at his home in Brislington, Bristol, with the television still on after friends raised concerns when they could not contact him for two days. A neighbour entered the house and discovered Danan slumped on the sofa, and his partner Melissa Crooks identified his body at the scene. The coroner concluded the death was misadventure, noting no evidence of intent to take his own life, and highlighted Danan's long history of drug misuse and previous accidental overdose. His mother paid tribute, describing him as someone who helped many but struggled with his own challenges. Danan had recently been under psychological care and was working on overcoming his addiction, though he had expressed suicidal thoughts without intent to act on them.
