Lucy Liu to Lead Peacock Crime Drama Superfakes from A24 and Safdie Brothers
Lucy Liu is set to star in and executive produce "Superfakes," a crime drama series ordered by Peacock. The show, created and showrun by Emmy winner Alice Ju, centers on a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who ventures into a dangerous black-market underworld to fund a suburban life for her family. Produced by A24 and Universal Studio Group's UCP, the series also features executive producers Josh and Benny Safdie, Howard Klein, Olivia Gerke, Ronald Bronstein, and Eli Bush. Liu, an acclaimed actress known for roles in "Kill Bill," "Charlie's Angels," and "Elementary," brings extensive experience as both a performer and producer. Ju brings a strong pedigree from her work on Netflix's "Beef" and Peacock's "Poker Face." The series highlights a collaboration of notable talents and production companies and is part of Peacock's expanding slate of original content.
