CBS Announces Cast for Daytime Soap Opera

CBS's upcoming daytime soap opera 'Beyond the Gates' features a star-studded cast, including Clifton Davis as Vernon Dupree, the patriarch of a powerful Black family in a posh Maryland community. The series centers around the Dupree family, exploring themes of wealth, status, and hidden secrets in an affluent neighborhood. Chelsea, portrayed as a social media influencer and reluctant model, is tasked with rekindling the glamorous life her mother sacrificed while pursuing her own dreams of designing purses. Other notable cast members include Jibre Hordges as Jacob Hawthorne, a detective, and Mike Manning as Brady 'Smitty' Smith, a former political reporter turned househusband. Production begins in November, with the show set to premiere in early 2025. The series is part of a content partnership with the NAACP, highlighting African American narratives in a contemporary setting.
