Rock Hill Police Shoot Woman With Replica Gun

In Rock Hill, South Carolina, a woman was shot in the shoulder by a police officer after a pursuit that began when she allegedly fired shots from her Jeep and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at law enforcement. Officers used stop sticks to deflate her vehicle's tires and attempted negotiations, but she did not surrender. A Rock Hill officer then fired a single shot, injuring her in the shoulder. The woman received medical aid at the scene and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Investigators later determined that the weapon she displayed was a BB gun altered to resemble a real firearm. The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating, and the York County Sheriff's Office is considering criminal charges.
