Apple's 27-inch Mini LED Studio Display Set for 2025-26

Apple is reportedly preparing to release an updated 27-inch Studio Display featuring Mini LED backlighting, as suggested by display analyst Ross Young. This upgrade, expected by late 2025 or early 2026, will retain the display's current size but offer enhanced contrast, black levels, and brightness compared to the current 5K LED panel. Mini LED technology, already used in Apple's Pro Display XDR and MacBook Pro, provides superior brightness and color accuracy through localized dimming. The new display will reportedly use Mini LEDs from Epistar with panels supplied by LG Display. Additional improvements may include ProMotion technology for a 120Hz refresh rate and upgrades to the built-in webcam. The anticipated changes aim to address current limitations such as backlight bleed and improve overall display performance.
