North Korea's Nuclear Bomb Production Capability Revealed
South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) has revealed that North Korea has enriched enough uranium to build at least a 'double-digit' number of nuclear bombs. This follows Kim Jong Un's visit to a secretive uranium enrichment facility, which analysts believe was intended as a statement of defiance toward Washington ahead of the U.S. presidential election. The NIS briefing also noted that North Korea is advancing its missile technology to develop more powerful and accurate weapons aimed at South Korea. North Korea's bomb fuel capacity includes approximately 154 pounds of plutonium and a substantial but unspecified amount of weapons-grade uranium, sufficient to build numerous nuclear weapons. Key enrichment sites include Yongbyon and a suspected facility in Kangson, with potential undisclosed sites. Analysts suggest North Korea might delay its next nuclear test until after the U.S. election, opting for other provocative measures in the interim.
