Santa Rosa Stabbing Suspect Held on $100,000 Bail
Robert Dean, a 37-year-old from New Mexico, was arrested late Monday night in Santa Rosa, California, after allegedly stabbing a person in an unprovoked attack with a pocketknife on Mendocino Avenue. Bystanders intervened, disarmed, and restrained Dean until police arrived. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment. Dean was booked into the Sonoma County Correctional Facility on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held on $100,000 bail. Police praised the bystanders' bravery but cautioned against intervening in violent incidents due to the risks involved. Authorities have not stated whether Dean and the victim knew each other.
