Jerome Middleton and Khaylon Cruz were convicted of first-degree murder and armed robbery for the 2019 killing of Justin Paulo in Taunton, Massachusetts. The incident involved Paulo being repeatedly stabbed and robbed of his gold chain in a yard on Wilson Street. Surveillance footage captured significant portions of the attack, leading to the identification and arrest of Middleton and Cruz shortly thereafter. The knife used in the crime contained DNA from both Paulo and Middleton. The two men met at Charlton Memorial Hospital after the attack, where Middleton received treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. Both are scheduled to be sentenced on November 20th in Fall River Superior Court.
