Monroe Police K9 Tracks, Apprehends Two Teen Car Theft Suspects

Two teenage suspects, aged 14 and 17, were apprehended in Monroe, North Carolina, after being pursued by police following the theft of a Toyota Tacoma. An officer spotted the stolen vehicle early Sunday morning and followed it to a dead-end where the suspects fled on foot into nearby woods. Monroe Police K9 Narco tracked the suspects' scent for about a mile through wooded and field areas before locating and apprehending them. One suspect was treated for non-serious injuries from a K9 bite. Both teens face charges of larceny of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest through the Department of Juvenile Justice and were released to their parents. Their identities have not been disclosed due to their ages.
