Mass Stabbing on London-Bound Train Injures Footballer, 10 Others
Jonathan Gjoshe, a professional footballer for Scunthorpe United, was among 11 people injured in a mass stabbing on an LNER train traveling from Doncaster to London King's Cross. Gjoshe sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including a slash across his bicep, and has undergone surgery; he remains hospitalized. The attacker, Anthony Williams, 32, has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and other offenses. Among the injured, several suffered life-threatening wounds, with some discharged and others in critical condition, including a heroic train staff member. The incident forced the train to make an emergency stop at Huntingdon, where authorities arrested the suspect and recovered a knife. Both Scunthorpe United and Gjoshe's former club have extended their well wishes for his recovery and expressed support for all victims of the attack.
