Claude Makélélé is set to be appointed as the new manager of Greek Super League team Asteras Tripolis after leaving Chelsea's loan department by mutual consent last year. Makélélé, who previously worked as a technical mentor at Chelsea, will be assisted by former Chelsea coach Paul Clement, marking a reunion after their time together at Swansea City. Both coaches have experience, with Makélélé having managed in Belgium and France, while Clement was part of Frank Lampard's coaching staff at Everton. Asteras Tripolis currently sits fifth in the league after three matches this season. The duo aims to leverage their past experiences to improve the team's performance in the league.
