Lilia Vu triumphed at the Meijer LPGA Classic in a dramatic playoff, marking her return from a back injury and spoiling Lexi Thompson's bid for her first victory in five years. Vu, playing her first tournament since March, secured her win with a 5-foot birdie putt on the third extra hole at Blythefield Country Club. Thompson, who announced this will be her last full season, and Grace Kim, who led by five shots entering the final day, both missed long birdie attempts in the playoff. Vu's victory is her fifth LPGA Tour win and the largest comeback of the season, overcoming an eight-stroke deficit. Vu shot a 7-under 65 in regulation and birdied four of the last six holes to force the playoff. Thompson and Kim, despite strong performances, could not clinch the title in the tense final moments.
