A Maryland man, Phillip A. Brooks, 43, has been arrested for allegedly robbing the Middletown Valley Bank in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, in February 2025. Brooks reportedly handed a bank teller a note demanding money and fled on foot with the cash, with no injuries reported during the incident. After months of investigation by Washington Township Police, a felony warrant was issued, and Brooks was apprehended by the Cecil County Sheriff's Office in Maryland in June 2025. He is currently in custody awaiting extradition to Franklin County Jail to face robbery charges. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Chad Hefter, 41, from Pottstown, was arrested for breaking into an Exxon convenience store in New Holland, Pennsylvania, in April 2025. Hefter is charged and currently incarcerated at Chester County Prison.
