Disney+ Orders Pilot for Holes Series

Disney+ has ordered a pilot for a new TV series based on Louis Sachar's novel 'Holes', which was previously adapted into a successful 2003 film. This reimagined series will feature a teenage girl as the protagonist, who is sent to a juvenile detention camp where campers are forced to dig holes for a mysterious purpose. Alina Mankin will serve as the writer and executive producer, while Liz Phang takes on the role of showrunner. Drew Goddard is also involved as an executive producer through his company, Goddard Textiles. The original story follows Stanley Yelnats, a boy wrongly accused of theft, and explores his connections to Camp Green Lake. The pilot's development signals a renewed interest in this beloved story for a new generation of viewers.
