LAX/Metro Transit Center to Open June 2025

The LAX/Metro Transit Center station is set to open on June 6, 2025, at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, serving as a key light rail hub near Los Angeles International Airport. The $900 million project connects the Metro K and C Lines, offers a 16-bay bus plaza, secure bike parking, and enhanced passenger pick-up and drop-off facilities. While direct terminal access awaits the Automated People Mover, now expected in early 2026, shuttle buses will provide interim service. The transit center aims to improve regional access to LAX, alleviate airport congestion, and modernize the city's infrastructure. Its opening is seen as crucial ahead of major events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Olympics. The project also sets the stage for future expansions like the Sepulveda Transit Corridor.
