Three Teenagers Charged with Murder of Man on Isle of Sheppey

Three teenagers from London—a 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 14 and 15—have been charged with the murder of 49-year-old Alexander Cashford following a violent assault on Leysdown beach, Isle of Sheppey. The incident occurred on the evening of August 10, 2025, when Cashford was attacked during an altercation involving a small group, resulting in multiple injuries that led to his death at the scene. Evidence including CCTV and video footage show Cashford being struck with a glass bottle, kicked, and hit with rocks. A 12-year-old girl arrested in Basildon remains in custody as inquiries continue. Police have appealed to the public for any witnesses or those with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward to assist with the investigation. The case has been sent to Maidstone Crown Court, and all three charged teenagers have been remanded in secure accommodation awaiting further proceedings.
