Majority of Europeans Support AI in Workplace, Survey Reveals

A recent Eurobarometer survey indicates that over 60% of Europeans view digital technologies, including AI, positively, believing they enhance productivity and quality of life. However, 84% express concerns about the need for careful management of AI to protect privacy and ensure transparency. In Ireland, a Deloitte report reveals that 67% of generative AI users believe the technology boosts their productivity, yet only 24% feel encouraged by their employers to use it. Despite a rise in generative AI usage from 32% to 36%, 90% of Irish companies lack a policy on the technology. Usage is notably higher among younger employees, with 85% of those aged 18-24 using AI tools. The findings highlight a disconnect between employee adoption of AI and employer support, suggesting potential missed opportunities for innovation.
