Arab-Islamic Leaders Seek Stronger Joint Action Against Israeli Aggression at Qatar Summit
At an Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Qatar, leaders including Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Kuwait’s Crown Prince gathered to condemn Israeli aggression and call for stronger joint action to defend Palestinian rights and safeguard Arab-Islamic sovereignty. The summit was convened following an Israeli airstrike on Hamas officials in Qatar, which drew sharp criticism from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II, both emphasizing that Israel's actions threaten regional peace and security. King Abdullah urged Arab and Islamic states to adopt a clear, firm, and deterrent response, stressing the need to review all possible tools of joint action against Israeli threats. Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi and Turkey's Hakan Fidan also highlighted the necessity of coordinated efforts to halt Israeli aggression on Gaza, ensure humanitarian aid delivery, and support a prisoner exchange agreement. The leaders expressed full solidarity with Qatar, which has been targeted by Israeli attacks, and emphasized that these aggressive acts violate international law and escalate regional tensions. The summit aimed to forge a unified stance among Arab and Islamic countries to confront Israeli actions and seek solutions for peace and security in the region.
