Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the romantic drama 'On Swift Horses,' securing rights in North America and several international territories following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Directed by Daniel Minahan and based on the novel by Shannon Pufahl, the film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi, among others. The story revolves around Muriel and her husband Lee, whose lives are disrupted by Lee’s brother Julius, leading to a complex love triangle and Muriel's secret life of gambling. The film is produced by several prominent companies, including Ley Line Entertainment and Killer Films. Minahan expressed his excitement about the film's acquisition, emphasizing SPC's esteemed library. The deal was negotiated with UTA Independent Film Group, while Black Bear International handles international rights.
