Israeli Airstrikes Kill 23 Palestinians Amid Gaza Aid Crisis
Recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed at least 23 Palestinians, including children, amid a severe humanitarian crisis exacerbated by Israel's ongoing blockade and control over aid distribution. Among those killed was a family of five whose tent was bombed in Gaza City's Sabra district, and a UNRWA warehouse in northern Gaza was also struck, resulting in additional casualties. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that many victims remain trapped under rubble, with emergency services unable to reach them due to the intensity of bombardment and attacks on medical personnel. Since the resumption of hostilities in March following a two-month ceasefire, more than 2,700 Palestinians have been killed, adding to a total death toll exceeding 52,800 since October 2023. International concerns have been raised over Israel's control of humanitarian aid, with the UN and aid groups rejecting Israeli plans for aid distribution, while diplomatic efforts continue, including visits by foreign ministers to the region. Despite calls from the United Nations Security Council and the International Court of Justice for a ceasefire and humanitarian relief, Israeli operations persist, resulting in widespread destruction and a collapsing humanitarian situation in Gaza.
