Spaceballs 2 Expected 2027 Release with Mel Brooks, Bill Pullman

The cult classic 1987 sci-fi parody Spaceballs is getting a highly anticipated sequel titled Spaceballs 2, set for a 2027 theatrical release. Mel Brooks will return as Yogurt, and original cast members Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis will reprise their iconic roles, with Pullman's son Lewis Pullman joining the cast as Starburst, the son of Lone Starr and Princess Vespa. Daphne Zuniga has confirmed she will reprise her role as Princess Vespa, and new cast additions include Keke Palmer and Josh Gad, who is also involved in writing the script. The film, described as a "Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film," will be directed by Josh Greenbaum and produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Fans of the franchise will also recall the lesser-known Spaceballs: The Animated Series, which aired briefly from 2008 to 2009, featuring several original cast members returning. The new sequel aims to continue the franchise's legacy of satirical sci-fi comedy with a mix of familiar faces and fresh talent.
