Marianne Faithfull's Posthumous EP 'Burning Moonlight' Set for June Release
Four new songs by the late Marianne Faithfull, titled 'Burning Moonlight,' will be released this summer, following her death earlier this year. Faithfull, a significant figure of the 1960s music scene, had been working on these recordings prior to her passing, aiming to celebrate her prolific career. The EP features tracks inspired by her first two albums from 1965 and will be available on digital platforms on June 6, with a limited edition vinyl release on April 12 for Record Store Day. Her son, Nicholas Dunbar, indicated that the release is a tribute to her artistic legacy, emphasizing her unwavering passion for music until the end. Each side of the EP reflects different aspects of her musical journey, combining pop and folk influences. The title track 'Burning Moonlight' draws inspiration from her iconic song 'As Tears Go By,' encapsulating themes of resilience and acceptance.
