Samsung's Project Moohan XR headset, developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, has appeared in the Geekbench database revealing key hardware and software details. The device is powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip featuring six high-performance CPU cores and an Adreno 740 GPU, delivering respectable single-core and multi-core scores suited for immersive virtual and augmented reality experiences. It comes equipped with 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 14, which forms the base of Google's new Android XR OS designed for extended reality applications. The headset supports advanced XR features such as low-latency full-color passthrough, super-fast Wi-Fi 7, and VR-specific optimizations like foveated rendering and Space Warp technology to enhance performance and reduce motion sickness. Project Moohan is expected to have a lightweight and ergonomic design aimed at offering a seamless and intuitive user experience, though no official launch date has been announced, with speculation pointing toward a 2025 release possibly under the Galaxy XR brand.
