Aaron Pierre Cast as John Stewart in Lanterns

Aaron Pierre has been officially cast as John Stewart in the upcoming HBO series 'Lanterns,' alongside Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan. In interviews, Pierre expressed his excitement and commitment to honoring the character, stating he is doing 'extensive' research to prepare for the role. The series, co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, will follow Stewart and Jordan as they investigate a murder tied to a dark, Earth-based mystery. Pierre emphasized the production team's enthusiasm for bringing this story to audiences and aims to elevate the Green Lantern Corps. While a premiere date has not yet been set, it is expected to align with the release of 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' in June 2026. The series will feature eight episodes and is produced in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios.
