In Amravati, Maharashtra, twenty-one policemen were injured when a mob demanded action against Hindu seer Yati Narsinghanand Maharaj for his allegedly objectionable remarks about Prophet Muhammad. The police subsequently registered a case against Narsinghanand, and a total of 1,200 individuals have been implicated, with 26 already identified. The violence erupted outside the Nagpuri Gate police station, resulting in damage to at least 10 police vans. Following the incident, a prohibitory order was enforced to prevent gatherings in the area. Authorities have reinforced security and are pursuing those responsible for the mob violence. Police Commissioner Navin Chandra Reddy emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and ensuring legal proceedings are followed.
