Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Michelle Gellar are set to star in the upcoming prequel series 'Dexter: Original Sin,' which explores the origins of the titular character in 1991 Miami. Dempsey plays Captain Aaron Spencer, head of the homicide division, while Gellar portrays CSI Chief Tanya Martin, both of whom are Dexter's new bosses during his forensics internship. The series, which aims to showcase a different take on the '90s with new fashion styles and character transformations, will also feature glimpses of the original show's themes of morality and justice. New images released by Entertainment Weekly highlight the actors' distinct looks, with Dempsey sporting a mustache and Gellar donning shoulder pads, reflecting their characters' professional roles. The show is expected to premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime in December, consisting of 10 episodes. Clyde Phillips returns as showrunner, promising to deliver a compelling narrative that connects to the original series.
