Derrike Cope Launches Cope Family Racing Team

Derrike Cope, the 1990 Daytona 500 champion, is launching Cope Family Racing (CFR) to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in 2025, with the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Cope will serve as the general manager, and driving duties will be shared between Leland Honeyman Jr. and Thomas Annunziata, with Honeyman starting at Daytona and Annunziata racing at COTA. Honeyman, who has 41 previous Xfinity Series starts, expressed excitement about joining the team and contributing to its legacy. Annunziata, a newcomer with prior ARCA and limited Xfinity experience, also shared his enthusiasm for the project. The team plans to utilize cars from Richard Childress Racing and engines from ECR Engines as they embark on this new venture. Cope remarked on the opportunity to return to NASCAR, highlighting the team's commitment to fielding a competitive effort in the upcoming season.
