JetBlue First Airline Customer for Amazon Project Kuiper Wi-Fi Starting 2027

Amazon's Project Kuiper has secured JetBlue Airways as its first airline customer, set to launch next-generation satellite Wi-Fi on select JetBlue flights beginning in 2027. Project Kuiper's low Earth orbit satellite network will enhance JetBlue's existing free in-flight Wi-Fi, offering faster speeds up to 1 Gbps per device through an aviation-specific full-duplex, Ka-band phased array antenna. This partnership marks a significant step for Project Kuiper as it competes with Elon Musk's Starlink, which already provides satellite internet services to other airlines like United Airlines and Southwest. Amazon has launched over 100 Kuiper satellites so far, aiming to deploy more than 3,200 by mid-2026 to meet FCC deadlines, while Starlink operates over 8,000 satellites.
