Homeless Man Dies After El Cajon Stabbing

Steven Barron, a 71-year-old man, died from stab wounds sustained during an incident in El Cajon on October 5. Barron was giving a ride to Gregory Daniel Carlomagno, 44, a homeless man and probationer, when Barron's car broke down. While attempting to fix the vehicle, Carlomagno allegedly stabbed Barron in the torso for reasons that remain unclear. Police apprehended Carlomagno after he attempted to flee and carjack another vehicle. Barron was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries a week later. Carlomagno is being held without bail as investigations continue into the incident.
