Toys R Us Announces 37 UK Store Openings

Toys R Us is set to open 37 new concessions within WH Smith stores across the UK before Christmas, with three locations debuting each week starting September 28. This expansion will bring the total number of Toys R Us shop-in-shops to 76, following a successful relaunch in partnership with WH Smith, which began last year. The first new stores will be located in Bexleyheath, Eastbourne, and Southampton, among others, with additional sites to be announced. The iconic toy retailer originally collapsed in 2018, leading to the closure of all UK stores, but its return has generated significant public interest, with queues reported at recent openings. WH Smith's managing director, Sean Toal, expressed excitement about the brand's revival and its significance to UK consumers. Toys R Us aims to offer a wide range of popular toys for the festive season, including top-selling items like Squishmallows.
