Multiple Schools Close Due to Water Issues

Several schools and a public library have recently closed due to various facility issues. The Orillia Public Library is closed for the day following a water line problem that has left the building without water supply, raising health and safety concerns according to CEO Meagan Wilkinson. In Richland Parish, schools will be closed on December 18 to honor the late Sheriff Gary Gilley, with in-person classes resuming on December 19. Meanwhile, Iron River Elementary School is also closed due to a sanitation issue discovered on Monday, with no clear timeline for reopening. Additionally, Jasper-Troupsburg Elementary School remains closed due to a water supply issue that prompted a state of emergency declaration on December 15. The district is actively monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.
