Loose Tire Kills Driver on Pomona 60 Freeway

Early Monday morning on the 60 Freeway near Garey Avenue in Pomona, a tire came loose from a blue GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling westbound, crossed the center divider, and struck the windshield of a white Lexus ES 350 traveling eastbound. The impact caused the Lexus driver, a 57-year-old woman from Moreno Valley, to lose control, veer across lanes, and collide with a guardrail, resulting in her death at the scene. Authorities confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. The incident led to the closure of the eastbound lanes during cleanup and investigation.
