Function Health Acquires Ezra, Launches Affordable AI-Powered Full Body MRI

Function Health, a preventive health and longevity startup, has acquired Ezra, a company specializing in AI-powered full-body MRI scans, to offer a more comprehensive approach to proactive health management. Through this integration, Function members will gain access to an FDA-cleared, AI-driven full-body MRI scan that takes just 22 minutes and costs $499, making annual whole-body imaging more accessible and affordable. The combined platform will enable users to track over 160 lab biomarkers alongside advanced imaging, providing a 360-degree perspective of their health and facilitating early detection of conditions like cancer. This move reflects a shift in healthcare from reactive treatment to proactive prevention, with AI playing a central role in improving accessibility and predictive capabilities. The companies plan to expand the availability of these scans to hundreds of locations nationwide in the coming months. Medical experts, however, continue to express mixed opinions about the widespread use of full-body scans due to concerns about unnecessary care and patient anxiety.
