Scottish Woman Killed in Argentina Avalanche
Andrea Marshall, a 27-year-old Scottish ski instructor, tragically died in an avalanche near Bariloche, Argentina. Marshall was cross-country skiing with two friends, both of whom survived but suffered from hypothermia. The trio was skiing on Mount Lopez when the avalanche occurred, with rescuers using sniffer dogs to locate Marshall's body. The avalanche risk at the time was considered 'considerable,' and an investigation is underway, with initial reports suggesting the skiers may have triggered the avalanche. Marshall, an experienced mountaineer, was living in Spain and had plans to further her career in the wine industry. Her former school and the Glencoe Mountain Resort, where she previously worked, expressed their condolences.
