Moore Park Golf Course Redevelopment Proposal Announced

The Moore Park Golf Collective has proposed an alternative plan to retain the iconic 18-hole golf course in Sydney amidst state government plans to convert nearly half of the 45-hectare site into public parkland by mid-2026. The proposal aims to utilize 15 hectares of underused land for various recreational facilities while keeping the course operational, reducing it to a par-68. New amenities would include a dog park, adventure playground, BMX track, skate park, and extensive walking and cycling trails. The initiative aligns with the government's vision to enhance recreational access for the densely populated surrounding areas. Jared Kendler, leader of the Save Moore Park Golf Course, emphasized that the plan meets diverse community interests and supports sustainable development. The Collective's aim is to create a vibrant destination that balances urban density with green space.
