BritBox Plans Contemporary Tommy & Tuppence Series With Leading Cast

BritBox is producing a new six-part contemporary adaptation of Agatha Christie's detective duo Tommy and Tuppence, starring Antonia Thomas as Tuppence, Josh Dylan as Tommy, and Imelda Staunton as Aunt Ada. The series follows the couple's tumultuous yet loving relationship as they solve mysteries, with Tuppence portrayed as a determined actress and Tommy as a crime writer rediscovering his passion. This marks the first English-language TV adaptation of Tommy and Tuppence's stories set in the modern era, written by Phoebe Eclair-Powell and directed by Fergus O’Brien and Ellie Heydon. The characters, who age throughout Christie's novels, are known for their wit and charm, distinguishing them from other Christie protagonists. Production is scheduled to begin this fall, with anticipation for additional cast announcements. The series aims to bring fresh life to Christie's lesser-adapted detectives, highlighting their dynamic partnership and engaging detective work.
