Wales announces ban on greyhound racing

An implementation group will be established to assist in the transition and learn from other countries with similar bans, like New Zealand. The ban aims to protect the welfare of dogs currently in the industry while considering the impact on local communities and the economy. Advocates for the ban, including the Cut the Chase Coalition, argue it will help prevent avoidable deaths among racing dogs.
