Former US Captain Michael Bradley Named New York Red Bulls II Coach

Michael Bradley, the former U.S. men's national team captain and one of the most decorated American soccer players, has been hired as the head coach of New York Red Bulls II in MLS Next Pro. This marks Bradley's first professional head coaching role after serving as an assistant coach under his father Bob Bradley at Norway's Stabæk and working briefly as a guest coach with the Canada men's national team. Bradley, 37, began his playing career with the MetroStars (now New York Red Bulls) in 2004 and went on to have a 20-year career across MLS and Europe, earning 151 caps for the U.S. and participating in two World Cups. He replaces Ibrahim Sekagya, who was promoted to the first-team coaching staff. New York Red Bulls sporting director Julian de Guzman praised Bradley as a promising coaching talent, emphasizing his distinguished playing career and potential as a coach. Bradley expressed excitement about returning to the club where he began his professional journey and is eager to help develop the young players on the team.
