Lilo & Stitch, Mission: Impossible Set Records

During Memorial Day weekend, Disney’s live-action 'Lilo & Stitch' and Paramount's 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' both broke box office records, with 'Lilo & Stitch' earning $145 million domestically and $341 million worldwide. 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' set a franchise record with a global debut exceeding $200 million, including $63 million in its three-day domestic opening and $127 million internationally. The film also saw strong pre-sales in China and Cruise personally thanked fans worldwide, including a message in Hindi, highlighting the movie's international appeal. Although 'Lilo & Stitch' led the domestic market, 'Mission: Impossible' claimed the top global debut for the weekend. Both films received positive reviews and generated renewed interest in their respective franchises. Paramount hopes the strong performance and extended IMAX run for 'Mission: Impossible' will justify its $400 million budget.
