Foxconn to Invest ₹25,000 Crore in Karnataka

Foxconn, part of the Taiwanese Hon Hai Technology Group, is set to invest ₹25,000 crore to establish a manufacturing plant near Doddaballapur in Karnataka, which will become its second-largest plant after China. This investment, supported by the Karnataka government, is expected to generate 40,000 direct jobs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Foxconn Chairman Young Liu to discuss expanding investments in India, focusing on AI, semiconductor manufacturing, and electronics production. Foxconn is also investing in other Indian states, including Tamil Nadu and Telangana, boosting local job creation and electronics exports. The Karnataka government assures full support, including infrastructure and legal assistance, to facilitate Foxconn's projects. Young Liu commended India's supportive environment for electronics manufacturing, driven by recent government reforms and policies.
