Malaysian Police Conduct Raids on Child Pornography

Malaysian authorities, in a coordinated effort dubbed 'Ops Pedo Bersepadu', have arrested 13 men across six states for the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), seizing approximately 40,000 illicit items during the raids. The operations were conducted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) alongside the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) as part of a broader initiative to combat child pornography. Police chief Tan Sri Razarudin Husain stated that the raids resulted in the confiscation of multiple devices, including computers and mobile phones, with investigations ongoing under relevant sexual offences laws. Experts emphasize the importance of community policing in addressing this issue and suggest that public awareness and reporting mechanisms are crucial for effective surveillance against illicit content.
