CBS to Premiere New Soap 'Beyond the Gates'

CBS has announced that its new daytime drama series, 'Beyond the Gates,' will premiere on February 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. ET, marking the first new daytime soap opera in 25 years. Set in an affluent African American community near Washington, D.C., the series focuses on the Dupree family, a powerful multi-generational clan embodying Black royalty, while exploring the secrets and scandals hidden behind their luxurious façade. The show is produced by CBS Studios in partnership with the NAACP and P&G Studios, with Michele Val Jean serving as the creator and showrunner. Production began in Atlanta in late October 2024, with a cast including Tamara Tunie and Clifton Davis. Episodes will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. 'Beyond the Gates' represents a significant milestone as the first one-hour daytime soap centered on a Black community since 'Passions' debuted in 1999.
