A 4,000-gallon tanker overturned on the Route 1/Media Bypass near Ridley Creek in Upper Providence Township, Delaware County, spilling roughly 2,000 gallons of diesel and home‑heating oil. The crash prompted closures and detours on the bypass while HAZMAT teams, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and contractors mounted containment and cleanup operations. The driver was transported to a local trauma center; his condition has not been disclosed. Aqua Pennsylvania said local drinking water supplies were not affected.
