Andy Cohen, a 55-year-old television host, fell victim to a bank scam that resulted in substantial financial loss, as recounted in various episodes of his 'Daddy Diaries' podcast. The scam entailed a phone call from individuals posing as Cohen’s bank’s fraud alert team, during which he was manipulated into providing sensitive personal information and logging into his bank app. The scammers also convinced Cohen to set up call forwarding, rendering him unable to receive legitimate calls from his bank regarding large sums of money being transferred out of his accounts. Despite his attempts to mitigate the situation, scammers were able to confirm fraudulent transactions, ultimately leading to substantial financial losses.
