Kalinskaya Defeats Raducanu in Washington Open Semi-Final

Emma Raducanu was defeated 6-4, 6-3 by Anna Kalinskaya in the semi-finals of the Washington Open, ending her bid for the title. Despite serving five aces early in the match, Raducanu was unable to convert any of her four break point opportunities, allowing Kalinskaya to take control and secure the win. Kalinskaya, ranked just below Raducanu, praised her own aggressive play and tactical discipline, and will face Leylah Fernandez in the final. Fernandez reached the final after a marathon three-set victory over third seed Elena Rybakina. In the men's event, Alex de Minaur won his semi-final against Corentin Moutet and will meet Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who defeated fourth seed Ben Shelton, in the final. Raducanu's performance in Washington also ensured she reclaimed the British number one ranking from Katie Boulter.
